The Recovery Begins

On Wednesday, the surgeon, radiologist and oncologist met to examine the MRI results. Because there was no defined margin around the spot, there was a chance that it was just swelling from the surgery. The decision was made to wait and watch.

The official pathology report identified the tumor was a level 2 Pleomorphic Xanthoastrocytoma (PXA). This is an extremely rare tumor in the Astrocytoma family. Because of it rarity, there is not a wealth of research to turn to.

Nathan was released from hospital on Friday, only three days after undergoing brain surgery. His recovery from the surgery has been miraculous.
